RACES

OCTOBER 26TH, 2014
LONGHORN 70.3, AUSTIN TX
Finishing Time: 4:51:17
Longhorn 70.3, short summary: Felt strong and confident on the swim, but my time was still slow (???). Scorched the bike, even though they switched up the course on us and turned into into a monster hill challenge the last half. Wanted to push for a PR in the run, break 1hr 20m (last year I was around 1:25:00), but then the course turned into Buffalo Springs on us...was glad to just finish. Spent about 45min in the medical tent with the worst leg cramps I've ever experienced (was bitting down on the edge of the cot and screaming like they were amputating a limb) and medics trying to get my body temperature up from 90deg. There are no more excuses for bad races. It is what it is on that day. As you can see in the picture, it was just a good day to be alive, to be racing, and to enjoy the pleasures of God's creation.
